About the School

Our North Star always points toward students!

Here at Chaparral we are Future Forward thinkers. We believe in working with and supporting the whole child through our Community School services. Here, we are AVID focused. Not sure what AVID is? It's a college and career readiness mindset. We teach students skills that will help them later down the line with writing, inquiry, collaboration, organization and reading. We support students with grade level intervention for academics, conflict resolution through restorative practices, and we have two councilors and a social worker on campus for other social emotional needs. Our Community School Coordinator works with partners in our community to provide a wide variety of services to our students, family, staff, and neighborhood. These services enhance our "whole child" approach to education- we address the most basic human needs in order to access our students' academic needs. We create future scholars and strong citizens in our community.
